Introduction to Big Data with Hadoop on Windows Azure and Server by Joe
Homnick
May 24 MUG in Boca Raton
Big Data is the management of large/huge datasets and has become a hot
topic in IT circles over the last couple of years. Microsoft is entering the Big
Data foray with Hadoop on Windows Azure and Server 8. Apache Hadoop is a
software framework that supports data-intensive distributed applications under a
free license. Microsoft is embracing this standard community driven approach
with support and tools in both its Cloud and Server 8 software. This
presentation will give an introduction to Big Data and how it is being
implemented on the Microsoft software stack.
